Christ tends to get overlooked at Christmas. Let’s be honest. December comes and you think, “OK, this is the year.” This time you’ll swear you’ll slow down and take it all in. Make the most with family. Help the needy. Zero in on what it really means to be a Christ follower during this holy season.

What if you could inspire your church, your family and yourself to avoid being consumed by commercialism this Christmas?

1. Commit

Like the idea? Commit to it and start brainstorming. If you represent a church or other organization, sign up to join the Advent Conspiracy.

2. Communicate the Vision

Talk to your family, friends, and co-workers about [AC] Advent Conspiracy. It’s pretty simple. Worship More, Spend Less, Give More and Love All

3. Educate Yourselves

Spend some time learning about materialism and reflecting on it. Then, start conversations with others about it. What are the local and global needs around you, and what’s the meaning of Christmas all about?

4. Get Creative

Discover together how to live in a more relational and meaningful way. Instead of celebrating with expensive gifts, what might Christmas look like this year?

5. Identify who you will Love

Choose the key people groups and clean water projects that you’d like to assist, such as Living Water International or World Relief.

6. Celebrate the Birth of Christ

Commit funds or take an offering that will go to the groups you have identified. Redistribute the money to the groups you have chosen. This is direct - no money comes through [AC] Advent Conspiracy.

7. Share your Story

Then, tell us what God did, so we can learn and grow and share it with others. Get a hold of us here.
